Valentine’s day around the corner — The time I got my heart broken by a Flight Attendant
As Valentine’s Day approached, I’m reminded of an unforgettable experience from last year. In February 2024, I found myself in Ho Chi Minh City — Vietnam, seeking solace in a bar with live music. It was a spontaneous decision, driven by a need to escape routine and perhaps find some adventure.
I was seated at a barstool, soaking in the atmosphere, when I noticed a group of friends in the corner. They were pointing and laughing, directing their attention towards a woman in the midst. Mustering my courage, I approached her and struck up a conversation. She was from the Philippines, a pleasant surprise as I had recently worked in Manila. We instantly found common ground.
She revealed that she was a flight attendant for a well-known airline, and that she stayed in Ho Chi Minh City for a brief layover before her next flight. Our conversation flowed effortlessly, and we spent the evening enjoying drinks and sharing stories. By the end of the night, we exchanged social media details and parted ways.
Two days later, we met again for a coffee at a charming, romantic café. We spent the day exploring the city, enjoying each other’s company. Our farewell was bittersweet, sealed with a kiss, leaving me wondering if I’d ever see her again. We continued to…
